It's 1915. Alfie and his father are out fishing, when they find a girl, in an uninhabited island in the Scillies. A mysterious injured girl. She has no idea who she is. Where she's from. Or how she came to be there. She can only say one word: Lucy. Some islanders suggest she is a ghost. Or a mermaid. Or possibly, a German spy? 

I LOVED this book. Honestly, it was great. I was never really into Michael Morpurgo, but this book was just written so beautifully. And I also learned quite a bit about the First World War, which I enjoyed.
