Roald Dahl
Children come in all shapes and sizes, but every single child wants a nice, interesting,
cunning and sparky dad. Not a boring stodgy parent. The plot centres on Danny,
a young English boy, and his father, William, who live in a gypsy caravan, fix
cars for a living and partake in poaching pheasants. This is all very dull, until they embark on an extraordinary adventure to outsmart a wealthy landowner who´s also a pheasant poacher.
I´m a big Roald Dahl fan, so I do recommend this book. It´s a brilliant book, with an easy to read story that just works. William fount it a bit hard to get into at first, possibly because the beginning is a bit uninteresting as nothing really happens. But it´s all worth it in the end. Another simple yet great read!
I think Roald Dahl books are great for younger readers. He´s just a great author that makes reading fun.
